May 2nd was our kick off for the wedding season and what a way to start it off! Jennifer and Andrew are both so unique and true to themselves that they threw caution to the wind and ignored the "rules" and traditions. When I first saw Jen show up to the Castle Green in Pasadena wearing her tea length dress and her hair pulled back in a low pony tail, I knew that she was relaxed and ready for fun. Even with the threat of rain, nothing could ruin their big day.
The couple saw each other before the ceremony for photos, which I always thinks is best. Everyone who is part of the picture taking process tend to be more at ease and natural when they take their time with the photographer. Because we worked on a detailed itinerary, every one showed up on time and there were no delays in the day.

The ceremony was performed by a friend of the bride and groom who got ordained just for their wedding. It is always special when someone close the couple officiates the ceremony, but it is also important that they have rehearsed script that they read from to insure that the ceremony runs in a timely manner. The officiant even showed up the day before to the wedding rehearsal with the rest of the bridal party and family to go over every one's role and place.
Since the bride and groom got their romantic and bridal party photos done before the ceremony, they were able to do their grand entrance from the grand stair case and join their guests for cocktail hour in the foyer.
Once the dining room opened, they chose to receive line so that everyone could sit down and relax for dinner with no interruptions and the bride and groom got to take their time to eat the delicious risotto that they had been craving for months.
The whole wedding went so smooth because they worked with professional vendors who specialized in weddings. Their DJ kept the crowd informed, entertained and dancing while playing a whole variety of music that everyone could enjoy.
My favorite part of the night? When the groom's friend pulled out his guitar and played an acoustic version of Beyonce's "Put a Ring On It" for the bouquet toss. Definitely a crowd pleaser.
